A classical music charity concert

One day a fragile violinist played under the walls of the Embassy of Ukraine to Hellenic Republic. When asked why here, she said that in this way she wanted to draw the attention of passers-by to the war that Russia has unleashed against Ukraine.

Joanna Gaitani has no relatives or acquaintances in Ukraine, she simply cannot continue to live peacefully when trouble has come to Ukraine. Since then, the story of an incredible friendship between the Greek violinist Joanna Gaitani and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Hellenic Republic began.

During this time, the violinist became an active participant in all events with the participation of the Embassy and Ukrainians in Athens. Joanna Gaitani herself has already organized two concerts, the collection of donations from which she transfers to support Ukraine. The first concert took place in the concert hall of the Deutsche Schule Athen with the support of the German Ambassador to Athens, Ernst Reichel.

Today, in the circle of faithful friends of Ukraine – with the ambassadors of Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, the representative of the Romanian embassy, as well as the deputy minister of culture Nicholas Yatromanolakis – we thank the Institut français de Grèce – Γαλλικό Ιστινοτο Ελλάδος and its director Patrick Comoy for the hospitality, and Joanna Gaitani , Elena Fedko and Lena Sourmeli for an unforgettable evening!

Our Center, led by Iryna and Oleksandr Bortnyk, gladly participated in the organization of the concert.
